Strategy

put the pieces in place to support your staff and promote productivity

No matter the size or status of an organization, certain common elements are essential for success. Tower Philanthropy collaborates with leaders of organizations working toward the greater good – including non-profits, associations, colleges and universities, and hospitals – to build a solid foundation of strategy and revenue-related operations. Together with Shannon, using tactics like coaching, assessments, and organizational planning, you’ll put your team in a position of strength from which to go out and deliver your mission.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY

Shannon consults with organizations to put the right pieces and people in place to enable growth, maximize performance, and secure future mission delivery. Strategy collaboration ranges from informal conversations with Shannon as a sounding board, to thorough program assessments and recommendations. Whatever the scope, services are customized to meet the current needs and future hopes of each organization.

FUNDRAISING/REvenue strategy & Planning

Organizations working for social good depend on a failsafe plan for fundraising. Take a fresh look at your fundraising or organizational plan with an audit that considers all components of a program, and a resulting plan to maximize strengths and build up areas of opportunity.

Or, focus specifically on improving your major gifts program – an element of fundraising that holds great promise yet is not leveraged by many non-profits. Work with Shannon to build and operationalize a major gifts model that is customized for your organization and community of support, and prepare a plan to keep it a high priority.

COACHING

Shannon Tower is a credentialed coach through the International Coaching Federation, which defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their potential. In her work with C-Suite officers, Directors, and individuals aspiring to those roles, Shannon employs deep listening, powerful questions, and a variety of coaching techniques and tools to help them uncover roadblocks and move forward.

Coaching can be incorporated into a broader scope of work with organizations, or individually contracted. It can occur one-on-one with individuals, with a team working toward a shared goal, or both. Visit the Coaching page to learn more.

team development

A cohesive, collaborative team – staff and/or board – is crucial to the achievement of organizational goals. While maintaining a healthy team is non-negotiable, it can feel nearly impossible to invest in this type of work on the organization while you’re doing the work of the organization. Partnering with Tower Philanthropy to strengthen your team allows you to keep the mission moving forward, while strengthening your infrastructure. Shannon leverages the following assessments to support the development of teams:

DISC Profile

DISC assessments with a team are impactful and fun! Completing and reviewing them together helps better understand the personalities of a group, reveal where conflict may occur, and uncover opportunities for even deeper cooperation and impact. DISC assessments can be implemented as part of a retreat, or as a standalone program.

Driving Forces

The Driving Forces Assessment identifies the driving factors that motivate a person to do what they do. It measures the extent to which knowledge, utility, surroundings, others, power, and/or methodologies influence one’s actions. It helps us understand what gets us – and our colleagues – up in the morning!

Emotional Quotient

The Emotional Quotient Assessment (EQ-i) is a valuable tool for individuals and teams seeking to understand and improve emotional intelligence. It pinpoints one’s strength and opportunities for growth in five domains of emotional intelligence. Shannon uses this tool to promote the personal development of individual contributors, and aggregates team results to provide guidance on how members can leverage their unique strengths to benefit the group as a whole.
